Backblaze is a crucial part of our strategy to protect our work, protect client deliverables, and minimize recovery time in the event of hardware failure or accidental deletion of files. Periodically, please confirm your Backblaze backup is configured and performing correctly by performing these steps:
- On your Mac, open System Preferences and click Backblaze Backup
- At the top left, you should see a green checkmark, and the message You are backed up as of:
- The date-time stamp should be recent, probaly as of the last hour or so. (Backups are performed as you create or modify files on your machine. So if you have been working on remote servers without saving anything locally, there could be a time gap.)
- If there is a time gap, to double-check all is well, in the details it should also say Backup Schedule: Continuously and Remaining Files: 0 files / 0 KB
- If your backup is not current and no backup is in progress, or if Backbalze is not installed, please talk with Matt or Terry immediately
